Just been sent a link on twitter about my channel 4 TV series The Lakes On a Plate, My Posh fish finger sandwich is channel 4 foods recipe of the day, which is a great honour considering channel 4 have

Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, Heston and Hue to choose from but they chose my recipe so thanks very much. Here is the comments one viewer made to channel 4.

We used some haddock for these that we had in the freezer. We defrosted them and patted them dry and this was another really easy, tasty, fab recipe from Peter. An excellent supper dish for friends and a far cry from anything bought. Go on, try them! I think we are going work our way through most of Peter’s recipes. The show is a breath of fresh air, it is down to earth, with no pre measured ingredients. Peter simply cooks his delicious recipes as if he was in your kitchen. Got to dash now, off to cook the soda farls with bacon!

  1. From 13 to 26 Sep. I was at home, studying for this course I’m doing. Needless to say that every morning at 9.30 I had to stop what I was doing to watch the programme! I was simple delighted with Peter’s enthusiasm, using The Lakes as an inspiration for cooking and the simple but tasteful recipes that he had, everyday. Finally, somebody that’s not afraid of using stock cubes to bring taste to our soups!!! It’s also nice to see that Peter’s got some great veggie options. Loved the idea of the Irish soda bread. What a great starter and so simple to prepare! And those cheese scones… Keep it going and please, I want a DVD for Christmas!! P.S.: Now that I’m back at work, can we please have the programme in the evenings, 8/9pm maybe?

  2. I absolutely love this programme and need the dvd .When is it in the shops.?????It is a must have.I love the lakes and good food so the combination is genius. Peter has a great teaching ability too he makes me want to give everything a go but in my own time at home so i am eagerly awaiting the dvd and book. Please dont dissappoint both my daughters and i.This programme should be on prime time t.v.perhaps replacing Nigella or Delia for a refreshing change!

  3. Lakes on a Plate is the best cookery programme I have watched in years. I really enjoy the way that Peter presents the programme. Are there any plans to publish a book of recipes from the series?

  9. Beautiful scenery and fab simple but delicious recipes. Really like Peters straight forward way of preparing and presenting the recipes and not talking to viewers like he s a Domestic Science teacher from 1976 ! (note Deliah et al ) Hope this is not the only series that he’ll be doing on TV and I want to visit his cafe soon !!! Is there a book of the series/recipes being published ??

  11. I am very disappointed after watching the soda bread farls being made. I am from northern ireland and he ruined the delicious traditional soda bread by putting spring onions into it. Soda bread should be toasted and then spread with seedless raspberry jam.
