Pete is the co-presenter and face of ‘Britain’s Best Bakery’ nominated for the National Tv awards. Series 2 was aired in January 2014 – February 2014, the show has been a roaring success building a great following on screen and online with social networking. The show has been broadcast in many other countries.
Britain’s Best Bakery is a national search to find and crown the best bakery in the UK. The series took the coveted 4pm – 5pm weekday slot on ITV1 and aired for six weeks continuously. Across the thirty episodes, fascinating stories and histories behind baking traditions were revealed as the show took a nostalgic journey through the country. Each week, the finest bakeries in each region were explored. They took on challenges set by the presenters which culminated in a weekly High Tea. The winner from each region reaching the final, doing challenging show-stopper baking tasks.
Lakes on a Plate, Pete’s first TV series, was broadcast on Channel 4 in September 2010. It got great reviews and achieved over 1 million viewers per episode.This series was very much Pete in his home county of Cumbria and the Lake district where he took his kitchen into the Lake District and the Lake District into his kitchen. The show really struck a cord with viewers who love the Lake District and Pete’s cooking. Pete is asked every other day for series 2!!, fingers crossed for a second helping of Lakes on a Plate.
The show has been re broadcasted over several other continents. Pete has a long standing working relationship with Lakeland home of creative kitchenware. Not only were they the core sponsor of his first TV series, he has also run several demo sessions with senior Lakeland store managers and Directors, showing them how to get the most out of their branded kitchenware products. These demos have been turned into consumer friendly cookery videos for Lakeland’s website, Facebook pages and You tube channel.
